| Past 2 weeks i visit the course twice. Played blue tee. I notice something, even tho distance only difference by around 30-50m, but incautiously u will hit harder. I notice whenever i play blue, i will hook the ball. | |

Moi korkor, that 30-50 meter extremely important. For short hitter like me, it's a a matter whether I can reach the green in regulation or not.

| This means that you are forcing your swing and probably using too much right hand strength. Next time, try to relax and just swing easy like you are playing white. | |

| I came to realization that when i play blue, i am usually 10 strokes more. may it is because my long irons arent strong enough and tend to over do it when I tee off. As a result causing many many self inflicted grievances..
I don't know, may be I am guessing. I should just start playing smart and look at course management rather than trying to be gung ho...

| Yes i agreed with moi, i too if played Blue teebox will tend wanting to hit the ball harder thus sending it into limbo.... Thanks S2S for advice to just relax and hit it like white teebox. I too always played Blue teebox at kranji ! UL | |

I don't know, may be I am guessing. I should just start playing smart and look at course management rather than trying to be gung ho... Not surprising to add another 10 or more strokes from White to Blue if our Drives are not able to hit more than 230m. Moreover Blue-tee layout got more obstacles than White tee. Genrally average distance for par 4 from White Tee is about 320m to 350m +-. If your drives is average of 220m, then the 2nd shot is ranging from 100m to 130m where club usable range is P to 7I (based on individual) and its very achieveable, and mentally we know that, so when driving we usually be more relax and reach to our desired driving distance. As for Blue Tee, the average distance for Par 4 is about 360 to 400m. Under such circumstances, we tends to force ourselves to drive another 10-30m longer but end up with Slices, Hooks where distance is even shorter than normal drives and make 2nd shot harder. Worst of all, OBs, Waters, Forest will comes in package and these add up to many strokes. In Theory, I know the problem, but when comes into play, I also make the same mistakes as everyone does and ending up with 100plus strokes on blue tee. Only those long hitters who can drives above 240m will not see much difference on their result when playing blue or white tee as their 2nd shot will only restrict to P to 7I.
