| I would very much like to know what are the best ways to improve golf. Please share with me your experiences. How often to play each week? How many times for range each week? How long or how many balls? How much time in Driver, irons, short game, putting? If have PRO coach, what are the frequencies to visit them? Any recommendations? Hope to hear from all of you. Also hope those low hcp can also share your experiences. Thank you very big!! | |

| i find that going range is very important. muscle memory go away if dun hit a few times in a week. i try to go range twice per week, 50 balls for 30m, 50 balls for 50m, 50 balls for 7 iron, driver, and any other club. i wish that i can go green twice per month also ... yah, never practice putting | |

| going range can only help u so much...
once u step onto the tee-box, u need good course management and mental toughness to be able to conquer the course...
course experiences and competition pressure will only help u with both....

| Leon, I'm no low hcp but I will just share what I think. 1. On course at least once a week 2. Range at least once a week 3. But range with a purpose, know what you want to practice and practice with a pupose 4. Do not neglect short game. For our standard, GIR is quite rare, prob 5 in a round. So we need good pitch, chip to save par and get bogey 5. Course mgt, cannot chiong, dun chiong, play safe 6. Do some golf specific exercise to strenghten your core 7. See a coach regularly, prob once every 2 weeks Lastly, golf is not a game of perfect http://www.amazon.com/Golf-Not-Game-Perfect-Rotella/dp/068480364XSee you this Thu | |

How often to play each week? How many times for range each week? How long or how many balls? How much time in Driver, irons, short game, putting? If have PRO coach, what are the frequencies to visit them? Any recommendations?

Thank you very big!! Hey bro. Me also a very high handicapper giving my thoughts. Q) How often to play each week? A) As many as you can afford. Q) How many times for range each week? How long or how many balls? A) I always believe that you should practise in the right way. No point hitting 1000 balls in the wrong way. You'll only prefect your mistakes rather than getting better. Q) How much time in Driver, irons, short game, putting? A) Every club in your bag plays their own role if not it wouldn't or rather, shouldn't be in your bag. Go on the ones that you are weaker in. I will personally spend more time with short game. No point driving 300m but cannot put it into the hole within range. Putting is something most people don't practise due to venue constraint but ultimately, you finish the hole, you'll need to putt it in... Q) If have PRO coach, what are the frequencies to visit them? Any recommendations? A) Firstly, no offence to all the PRO coaches here. I personally feel that they are just out there to make money out of people that looks for them. They will not pass all their "kung-fu" to you because when you become better, they'll have one less customer. I believe you have golfing kakis that are better players. Get advise from them. It'll be way better and it's free. To round up. Practise doesn't make perfect, only PERFECT PRACTISE makes PERFECT!!!

| course management can help..
There was once a video told me... the most important thing is to get the ball in play.. not GIR.. If u are in the or bush and cannot reach green.. take a short pitch into the fairway..and from there you might hit a pitch close enough to save par or worst bogey! Never waste stroke... and you must strive to only two putt a hole.. anymore putts is again wasting stroke.

To round up. Practise doesn't make perfect, only PERFECT PRACTISE makes PERFECT!!! Bro Cobra Whiz, well said. I guess you are on the right track to improvement. Not all golf PRO coaches are like that but kind of agree that some are like that. Even some low hcp friends will not tell you especially if you are betting with. It is usually the higher handicappers are more willing to share. Like bro pocketace mentioned, it's secrets, not many would share. I understand and it's ok to me. If you are willing to share, I would like to hear from you. I like your Perfect Practice!! I will remember that.
