Do You Think You Will Give Up GOLF ????

How many times did we said this to ourself ? I GIVE UP GOLF !!! Everytime when we played badly, we just want to throw our set into the pond...how many times we humbly accepted another golf invitation an hour later ?

Can we really can give up golf ?

The current ever high standard of living, as i penned todays post, a litre of petrol 98 cost S$2.15. I remember when i drove my 1st car..actually a second hand van, a litre of 92 cost only S$0.85cents in 1986...could it be the high cost of things that pushed us to quit golf ? A gambler can spend lots of $$$$ in a casino weekly, compare to a golfer..i guess its peanuts. can a gambler quit ???

Could it be the inabity to score and keep good scores ? A low hcp played high 90...wanting to quit and take up foot relex ? How about those who after 10 years still cannot break 90's (UL) What will happen to them ? Did you know anyone quit ?? I gues they are still out there doing gardening

How about a freak accident where a golfer shot hit a flying bird, kill it instantly, felt real bad, quit golf...my guess he took home the bird and make pigeon soup or roast...

What then can really make us give up, quit golf, throw the golfs set into the pond or a S$10000 sets to sell for S$25 !

Can anyone truly quit golf.......

I know i can't ! I can can only stay away from it for a week.......Play Golf Time !!!

hmmm i guess no one really quits golf forever but maybe less often? and perhaps the mentality changes too?
remb when i m used to be so crazy over golf, range seems like a joy...any info or ways to improve golf will interest me.. improving n beating better players seems to be my motivation.....

now? can golf, got time for golf then good loh....
range? what's tht? lol
din play well, nvm lo...hope to be more "lucky" then time lo....

Just wondering what causes the lost in passion? Is there other hobby or is it that golf is becoming boring? or something else.....

I gave up once and for almost 3 years. I gave up because I had dwindling kakis and my game was going no where as a self taught golfer.

I rekindled the passion when my friend introduced me to the RedDotGolfers forum in Nov 2010! This time I am gonna do it right!

i quitted for 2 to 3years and now i am back! WITH VENGEANCE!!!

More fierce than before, and play every week at least once! Invest in expensive equipments, buy a full wardrobe of NEW Attires! Triple the number of BALL CAPS compared to last time!

A few golfers have to give up golf due to injury and sickness. sad to say like Uncle Yap, he had to quit golf till both his legs are strengthen. He had a fall and till now still out of action. He is 71 years old.

But many i spoke to during my Tour Of Golfing, they overcome their injuries and sickness to continue to play. One even said to me.." Golf is my life, if i go, i will go in my golfing attire..." Such love for golf is amazing. we wish them good luck and health.

A few said golfing beside one own faith is another mean of getaway, a place of total peace with oneself, a special world all to themselves and their favourite golf sets. I know one golfer who told me...." Ah Lau, i played my best golf and lowest score is the same day i sign my divorce paper... " I just wish him all the best.....

I guess a golfer that give up golf are those who from young are being force to played, or a University students ask to learn and played golf so as bankers or businessmen can play golf with mega clients. This special class of golfer may like or dislike golf at first sigh !

My Sociall science studies ever come across a chapter of Elite people behaviour. This special group of people are very talented individual, they either excel in studies, sports, music or in arts. They are the cream of their class. They are so good, they are often treated as Gods ! They only do what they are good at, but once they touch a golf club and swing...thanks God who are almighty, a person may have all...but may not have a ball sense on golfing. this group who think highly of themselves for they seldom or never failed in their lives..cannot take the truth when golf is a humbling game. Just my 2cents worth
