Golf Irons in car as protection is an OFFENCE !!!

When we played golf in JB, for our protection against highways robbers, we always carry a 7 iron in our car....but i happen to play golf and chat with a former Home Affair officer on this matter.

IT IS A OFFENCE TO HAVE A GOLF IRONS IN YOUR CAR EVEN IT FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION !!

Reason :- in Singapore law, you cannot hide any objects like golf iron, metal rods or even a baseball bat in your car, it against Singapore Law and it classified as a riot object. But you could carry a huge tourchlight

So be forewarned.....no golf irons in your car. Golf Bag must be in the Boot.

Any comments on this subjects guys ???

But you can be spotted with a wedge or irons by your car seats. If Police or TP spot check and someone we know is on duty......you will 3 days of free meal.....

Free nasi lemak. But no otah...only egg and fish. I eat before.

No our intention is when we go JB to played golf, scare along the way lor.....now after warning we only carry Wong Fei Hong type of umbrella !

I have seen the huge torchlight before... it is really big and like 5 pound hammer...that is a good choice, really.

in JB, it's really for own protection but it's a matter of Heng suay. Hope all brothers N sisters NEVER need to show off yr wedge

The robber must be blind-folded to want to rape you...

In JB, robbers don't rob. They just ask for your possessions. You give, you free to go. You don't give, they also send you away....with injuries. You want to use 7 iron? Some people golf ball also miss. And golf ball doesn't move. Robber's head can move. So not so easy to hit also. But honestly, best to travel in a few cars together. Don't stray to unfamiliar places.

Sorry ... my humble 2 cents and my humble opinion .... i always carry my irons in my passenger seat here in Singapore .... so far no problems .... perhaps i am in the wrong ?????

Totally 100 percent agreeable!
If you are in a foreign country & really really suey kena rob, just give it to them lah!
Items / stuff can be replace but your life & your family life cannot !
Not worth it !
Just pray to LORD that your journey to & fro is protected by him.

This was how my neighbour and his friends got robbed near a popular golf course:

Robbers (2X): Excuse sir....sorry arh...we making a living...paiseh...can we have your watches, handphones and wallet?

First robber did all the talking...second robber had a hand in his side pocket (obviously with a hand gun.)

3 golfers proceeded to remove their rolex and the 4th golfer was told his watch no need to hand over (Seiko lah....no offence to our Seiko here..haha)

They were in a Tze Char store, and the boss wanted to intervene. First robber just told him to mind his own biz, and after taking all their valuables just calmly walked away. And rode off in a motor bike. Steady?

Moral of the story: Seiko is safe, Rolex is not. Wallet, carry just enough RM$, put the rest somewhere in you pockets or in the car.

Another case: My other group of friends parked their car opposite a stall to have breakfast. While they were eating, another van drove up to block their car from their view. Car windows got smashed and all Boston bags gone in minutes without even any noise.

Moral of story: Never leave valuables like Passports and cash in your Boston bags. Always carry your passports with you.

But touch wood; so far nobody has been robbed traveling with me. Thank God.

Going to JB to play, one must remember to not be too flashy. I find that if they mark u, u won't know. It's purely Heng Suay. Be safe brothers n sisters when playing in JB.

Another thing to take note is that when you play golf at JB, try not to have a regular fixed place for food(unless is club house), etc. If you go every week to the same place and same timing, chances are you will be marked. Try to go different places.

Flashy car is also a potential target.

I like to remind everyone about this story....A few week ago a friend of mine was on the road at night and he was stop by a Traffic police Stop Check point for any drivers drunk driving, he pulled over and they find a 7 iron. he was ask a few question.

So be careful everyone...maybe a baton
