Handicap Card - 2 types - Social Player and Competitive Maintained - SGA

Handicap maintained by SGA associated members. They issue handicap card meant for competition. However, in SGA Handicap policy clause 37, one can opt for exclusion of competitive handicap maintenance ie just a social golfer. The card indicates the social golfer status and its last handicap score. After all, there are a group of golfers who just want to have fun and to satisfy golf club counter requirement that they have a handicap card, so they can play. Please correct me if wrong.

I think what SGA did is probably the right move and ensure buayaness is removed....for so called tournament leeches...

UL, since last year RDG is using this system. HCP is based on past few RDG tournament results. Only for 1st timer we will then use offical hcp.

The key issue for those club- less like me, paying $180 a year just to maintain the handicap that was not required. I understand many newbie or golfers are sourcing for the cheapest place to maintain their handicap. Does that clause 37 meant one can just have a social golfer handicap card which does away with subscription, and qualified to play any golf course.
