Free up golf course for other sports !

In today Straits Times Thursday 8 April, page A31 / forum.

Mr Lee Seck Kay wrote in the forum that the government and SSC built 22 golf course total 1,400ha of land equivalent to 2,200 football fields. he quoted..

" We must free up in stages some of our golf course for the sake of the growing numbers of sport- loving children who need the space to play and grow into robust and health conscious adults. The extent of benefits far outweight those that golf can provide "

I don't think Mr Lee SK is a golfer !

What you think bros and sista...is Golf a useless sport ???

yes 。。。a useless sport ... for making us mad, frustrated , horny but happy .... 22 courses may not be enough .....

I saw the article! A lot of non-golfers (like me last time) used to think that golf wasted a lot of land space especially in a land-scarce like S'pore. They do not know the magic and poison inside it.

Why golf need to sacrifice for REALLY useless sports like S'pore football?

referring to playing golf in Thailand,Indonesia,
China...where you can expect the ' unexpected '
pleasures after the 18 holes!!! Not in Singapore

Ya, definetly a non-golfer. Should tell them, lucky got golf course, else all concrete buildings and we will be burn to death.

Ask this Mr. Lee to propose turning Bus lanes into sports facilities, is better.

The bus lane is the biggest failure, in my opinion. When they created hundreds of bus stopping stations and expect the bus to be fast? It gotta be a joke!

If I'm not a golfer, yes, golf occupy too much land.. and a useless sport



But for a golf addict, I'll tell you why golf is so great....

Aiyo please la Singapore is already small even if free up 22 course is STILL SMALL what the point ! is not in USA or other big country we are so small and freeing up the course will not make any differnes at all..... pointless.... waste time.... waste money........waste resource........waste labor..... LAME.......

Hong Kong got more mountains than us, the Government lazy don't want to remove/develope all these mountains...If they did, they can have more HDB flats and golf courses than us.

Free up some courses and open up istana golf course for all of us to play??

so... the conclusion is... HK has too little golf courses whereas singapore is JUST RIGHT

His statement does not reflect those citizens who needs exercising but cannot afford doing anything over strainous. I am one of those as I have a medical condition that I can't play active sports. So if I dun play golf, what am I suppose to do???
