I alway release my lungs, hold my breath or take gentle breath.....as i do my upswing and hitting the ball. This will ensure min. body movements as i compression my hold body.

I can't remember. I normally look around for ladies golfers even when swinging.

Breathing is a form of rhythm. It keeps you in sync. Sometimes due to adrenaline, you may be swing faster and harder. The breathing helps you keep yourself in check.
For the guys, if you remember your army days and those rifle range sessions. We were taught to breathe in, breathe out 1/4 of your oxygen, hold and squeeze the trigger.

These are the kind of things that make all the difference. Build it into your routine and it works wonders. I watched Padraig Harrington during Barclays 09. He holds his breathe and "bites" his lips at impact. According to some sources, it gives extra power. Give it a try. I know that hockey players do that to give them more "oomph" to their shots.

i saw alot of guys in the gym lifting weights, when they are pushing the weights they let out some breathe and 'noise'.. guess at the point when they need to exert power they need to hold the breathe a little, and then u push..
ok i shall stop writing.. somehow sounds so wrong...

I normally take a few deep breathe on the tee when I am nervous. But once I address the golf ball, I will exhale to ease off tension.
