What iron to use when....

Hi All,
I always face a indecisive situation which need some advises. When my ball landed 40m away from green, what iron should I use? Or rather ask what iron you use?

Cobra iron.

I tot u use putter?

5 iron!!!!

y 5 iron? not 8 or pw? I tried 7 iron but cant control e distance.

Go to the range and hit 1000 balls to that distance, after that you will automatically know which iron to use...swee...

I would lop the ball with a 58 degree wedge if the ball on soft grass. If the round is hard, i would pitch and chip with 52 wedge for control and distance.

Both 52 and 58 are my Dragon Sabre and Heavenly Sword....sure KILL !

Normally 40m i use a gap wedge and hit with 1/2 swing. If there is bunker in front, i will take a 60 wedge.

1)If landing area is very tight, use a 60 degree to hit a flop shot and backspin.....even if u do not backspin, you can still check the ball

2) If u are not comfortable with flop shot, take a AW and do a half swing, should be able to check the ball

3)If there is plenty of green to work with, take a PW or 9i to hit a bump and run to let it run up the green
