| I have been golfing for 8mths now. (still noobie..so panchan okie) I do have a PC but have not apply for handicap yet.
Should I or shouldn't I apply for it now ? Any coach out there, who can process the handicap without going for the test? I have a guy in other forum who offers me that but is it safe?
I am going to apply membership at NSRCC soon, most probable next week! They can maintain the handicap right? UL, got any promotion or not?
Advise plse, much appreciated !

| Think promo over ! But if you pop in to NSRCC please call me ....i like to tag along hehe !
No hurry to take the HC or CR rounds, just play at least a year than you can apply and pass with flying colors. Don't give yourself too much stress !

| if u got nsrcc, just have them maintain your handicap.. believe their website/customer service will provide u with the necessary assistance. otherwise quite a few of us maintain our handicap with ssg (singapore society of golfers) or sga (is it singapore golfers association?), can also go check out their website. | |

Advise plse, much appreciated ! Bro NSRCC do the test and maintain it as well. No lah. I would advice u go do the handicap. At least u know that u did it the correct way. Of course there are short cuts but I dun think it makes things any easier. U still need to submit 5-10 score cards before u can apply for HC test. (NSRCC bro pls advice if I am wrong). Well at least with the defunct SBGC, I needed 5 rounds at their course, 5 from other course is ok. My coach do HC test and maintains at legend. But it's all up to yr preference.

| yeah agree... if u intend to play golf long term, and in singapore, good to just take the HC test from a club in singapore so there will not be any issue with any singapore golf clubs not recognising some malaysia handicap cards (for e.g.)... i used to own one issued by laguna bintan, it's recognised and all that and i got no problems in playing at clubs that need handicap. but i realise there's no system to update it, so i feel still not so proper la.. so in the end take again from the singapore club.. but in the end the handicap also not updated.... as my scores still the same... | |

Advise plse, much appreciated ! Hi bro-edi, the wisest thing to do is to go get your PC and then work towards getting your Handicap. Once you have your PC, go play as many rounds as you can (remember in golf there's no short cuts...hehehe), collect these cards(at least 10) (make sure they're signed by the marker and have your green fee receipts attached). Once you are ready, submit the cards (don't wait for too long like 3 months or more) to whichever club you're a member of and let them know you want to apply for CR, the club will probably call you when there's a slot available. If you get thru the CR, your handicap will be assigned by the USGA system based on the cards you've submitted. Hope this helps

Advise plse, much appreciated ! Bro_edi, Bring UL along! Can mark him as the referrer. The incentive is not a lot, a 100 bucks or so, I think. Then UL can use the $100 to buy coconut juice for u and me... If u r buying NSRCC, then dun bother to pay fees to acquire external handicaps. Shldn't take long.
