| W.I.M.P ? PART 81 - special case editionYes it happen to certain kind middle age man....the names have been change to protect the innocent. As UL was on the 1st green, he 3 on a par 5 holes. UL dig for his pocket for a ball marker to mark his ball, only to realized he didn't have a marker, so he used his plastic tee for the 1st hole. Upon returning to his buggy, UL search for a plastic ball marker but in vain. Others kaki used only magnetic marker and each only have one on their cap. UL used his plastic tee for the 1st 9 holes, as he waiting for his turn on the 10 teebox, a small round granite pebble caught his eyes. He took his pebble and used it for the next 9 holes as ball marker. It seem that after he used this pebble, his luck change and he made par after par, bogey his worst score. His playing partner, Salty Dog, Lee woodwood and moi kor was very unhappy..... Salty Dog " UL pebble marker keep distracting me....one black object in the middle of the green " Lee WoodWood " UL pebble marker keep moving as our balls could roll not over it like plastic or magnetic marker ! " moi kor " Afdter he change to hie weird pebble marker, his luck changes.....my next game i will bring a rock !!! " Is UL breaking the rules by using a small granite pebble as ball marker ? Is there a certain rules on what type of marker to used ????? Will UL be DQ for using his pebble marker ???? Heard UL will bring a special Feather marker for his next game !!! W.I.M.P for UL and his pebble marker ??? | |

| It's not a violation to the rules. Just that it's bad etiquette as the marker is distracting. | |

No leh....some golfers used Diamond marker until it distract others, some used marker so small that you accidental step on it and got blamed for stepping on the maker and fined a jug of beer. Some used pitch mark tool, some used golf pencil, some use shining coin and lately i heard one Uncle used a $50 casino chip too ! As long if the rules didn't state that a golfer cannot used a small pebble than i guess this UL can used it till moi kor take a rock to challenge him.... Make Sense ???

| The provision in the Note to Rule 20-1 is a recommendation of best practice, but there is no penalty for failing to act in accordance with the Note.
Examples of methods of marking the position of a ball that are not recommended, but are permissible, are as follows: placing the toe of a club at the side of, or behind, the ball; using a tee using a loose impediment; scratching a line, provided the putting green is not tested (Rule 16-1d) and a line for putting is not indicated (Rule 8-2b). As this practice may cause damage to the putting green, it is discouraged.
