Price increase for NSRCC subscription & golfing

NSRCC has announced price increase liao!! Sad

Is it worth the while to join now that they are increasing the fees?

It may seem like a bad time for NSRCC to increase it fees...like S$50 for a game now.....but i am sure others clubs will increase in due time.

As stated due to high inflation cost and fuel increase, we can do nothing. I am sure JB course will now hit a high of RM120 soon just to be in par with Singapore largest pool of golfers club, namely NSRCC.

We live in a era of many uncertainty, famine, flood, tsunami.....if we can afford that $$ for a 41/2 hour of bliss and blessing....i will continue to play in my home club, an extra S$100 a month of 8 games, the most i will cut my other games along Thomson Road or fewer games.

Come on everybody (NSRCC's Members), be of good cheer, if we can afford....golf is where we had our good and bad memories, remember your 1st par, your 1st birdie or even your 1st HIO.

The good thing to come out in months could be lesser golfers on course, more people who can't take the stress of extra $$, quited and start selling their prize golf sets. I will look forward in years to come with many SengSiong prices of my fav. clubs like Mizuno etc.

This is global scale events, higher cost of living across the board. I got many sms earlier in the afternoon about NSRCC green fees 32% jump. A scale unseem since 1995 recession. I calmly told all my golfing kakis....We been there, did it, played it, and holes it. BUT my memories with my friends and golfing buddies are priceless. Each game i can relate or tell stories of how the driver got up in the tree or that sharp corner i almost overturn.....that ...my fellow golfers, money cannot buy.

Golf is like my first love of any ball game (beside Badminton), i will continue to cherish my game with loved one and golfing buddies. There's a balance, lesser games but can buy more golfing stuff prices unknowingly cheap before !

I speak for myself ........... i am a Golfer, not a Quitter ! Greens fees, high score, poor health....will not stop me from playing golf whether in NSRCC, JB, Batam, Bintan or even a planned golf in December Dongguan. Non NSRCC golfers may smile and joke about NSRCC fees jump, but if we do our calculation, it's a good investment we had in NSRCC.

You are a hypocrite.. This is not right. Its double standard from where i see it.

The last time when JB raise their prices, you boycotted JB courses to show your dis-pleasure. Now, when NSRCC raises prices, you just say priceless investments.

Joining Poresian is good option.Cheap cheap and still can pump petrol on the way back. But I think those staying in the west should find it more enticing to join. For me to join NSRCC, it not worth the while. Distance from my place in the West to NSRCC is about the same as I travel to Poresia. Plus NSRCC always jam packed on weekends. Plus have to pay, what, with the increase in fees, green fees $48 + buggy $22, (not sure if included 7% GST). Total add up: $70. Wah lau! Poresian pay only Rm38.16 (S$16). Only difference is the course condition and poor buggy maintenance. But I can play 4 times with change to spare, excluding the petrol savings which will offset the toll fees. Its not whether it Singaporean or not, I trust you will understand that I am not against the subject of country.

I am only against the point that you felt that its a good investment despite that the price has gone up. Previously, you would have scream in anger and despair when JB golf club up their price. Then you rally people to not go to JB. How come not the same treatment to NSRCC when they up the price?

May peace be with all brothers on this touchy NSRCC issue.

Each individual have their own views whether or not the price increase is justifiable and is to be respected. For those who feel that the price increase is still affordable, they are free to do so. Those who feel the price increase is unjustifiable may choose not to renew it.

My personal opinion is since there is no limitation on the number of membership that NSRCC is trying to attract, that may put a stress on the bookings, particularly on weekends. I am more of a weekend golfer except my limitation on 1 weekday golf per month. Weekdays, I understand is more accommodating and slot should be easily available in the mornings.

My other reason for not renewing is that NSRCC Changi is too far away from my home in the West, unless I choose only to join Kranji, which does not make sense.

Therefore, I am sure those who choose to renew or not to renew have already done their homework and made their final decision. Smile

When JB raise it price, if the condition is of Singapore standard, i will still support. If you read my post i did not rally people NOT to play in JB, if i don't play in JB and my sidekicks decide to follow and chiong Singapore Par 3...i am sorry that is something you don't feel right. I just cannot understand as it was reported all JB course management had a big meeting and everyone raise the fees... Mafia style ???. cyclops

As time is ticking, all Singapore course will hit another high as you can read in the news the world is gearing up for high inflation. Than i am sure NSRCC is still the choice of many. OCC increas the Buggy fee up $5. SICC had meeting over fee hike....so brace it
